Organizers for Run Merrickville have started planning the 2022 Running Event and are hopeful they can have a virtual and an in person run.

Race Director, Lori Reynolds, said that aspect of the run will depend on the status of the Covid Pandemic.

She said, “We cancelled 2020’s event entirely based on the public health concerns over the rapidly rising caseloads across Ontario. We held a successful virtual run in 2021and now we are hopeful we can add the in person component in 2022”.

The committee has tentatively set May 14, 2022 as the Race Day.

Volunteer co-ordinator, Sally MacInnis will be connecting with the volunteer teams to determine interest and availability. She said the in person part of the race will follow the Public Health Protocols in place at the time of the event.

Also on the planning table is a fund raising event, the very popular Trivia Night. The fundraiser set for 19 February, 2022 will be held at the community centre in Merrickville and is also subject to the Public Health protocols in place at the time of the event.

Reynolds cautioned that these plans are tentative, but they are moving forward with a positive outlook.
