I am taking some of this space to recognize and congratulate my wife, Sally for winning the 2016 Moira Walker Memorial Award for International Service.
The judging panel confirmed her award without hesitation recognizing her significant contributions to Infection Prevention and Control in Canada and internationally, all of which are held in the highest esteem.
The Moira Walker Memorial Award is in memory of Moira Walker, a Past President of IPAC Canada and Past Honorary Secretary of the International Federation of Infection Control. Moira encouraged and engaged Infection Prevention and Control Professionals to support their international colleagues through education and facilitation of infection prevention and control projects.
Sally has been chosen as the 2016 award recipient because of her work in providing much needed Infection Prevention Control resources, education and networking through the Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Board in Cameroon, West Africa. She spent some time in Cameroon in 2012 touring the various health care facilities assessing their infection control practices and needs.
An official presentation of the award will be made to her at the Opening Ceremonies of the IPAC Canada 2016 National Education Conference to be held in Niagara Falls at the ScotiaBank Convention Centre on Sunday, May 15, 2016
Congratulations Sally
I already knew you are an international treasure.
