On Thursday 22 September 2016 3 Merrickville residents joined Clay Williams on his Canal Pursuit for Mental Health. Sally MacInnis, Susan Moizer and Andrew Moizer Joined Clay to offer encouragement and companionship on his quest to raise awareness for mental health.
Susan accompanied him from Smiths Falls to Merrickville, Sally joined at Merrickville for the run to Andrewsville and Andrew ran from Merrickville to Kemptville.
I was on hand at the Block House Park in Merrickville to greet the runners on behalf of Merrickville-Wolford and present Clay with a municipal pin as well as a finishers medal on behalf of Run Merrickville.
The Canal Pursuit for Mental Health is a 750 km run by Clay Williams along the Trent Severn Canal from Port Severn to Trenton, across to Kingston, then up the Rideau Canal to Ottawa ending on Parliament Hill at the Centennial Flame.
The purpose of the run is to help raise awareness and funds for mental health issues in cooperation with the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.
Such a great experience for a great cause!
